Thou wast that all to me, love,
For which my soul did pine —
A green isle in the sea, love,
A fountain and a shrine,
All wreathed with fairy fruits and flowers;
And all the flowers were mine.
Ah, dream too bright to last!
Ah, starry Hope, that didst arise
But to be overcast!
A voice from out the Future cries,
"Onward! " — but o'er the Past
(Dim gulf! ) my spirit hovering lies,
Mute — motionless — aghast!
For alas! alas! with me
The light of life is o'er.
"No more — no more — no more,"
(Such language holds the solemn sea
To the sands upon the shore,)
Shall bloom the thunder-blasted tree,
Or the stricken eagle soar!
Now all my hours are trances;
And all my nightly dreams
Are where the dark eye glances,
And where thy footstep gleams,
In what ethereal dances,
By what Italian streams.
Alas! for that accursed time
They bore thee o'er the billow,
From Love to titled age and crime,
And an unholy pillow! —
From me, and from our misty clime,
Where weeps the silver willow!

3.A Dreamby Edgar Allan PoeIn visions of the dark nightI have dreamed of joy departed-But a waking dream of life and lightHath left me broken-hearted.Ah! what is not a dream by dayTo him whose eyes are castOn things around him with a rayTurned back upon the past? That holy dream- that holy dream,While all the world were chiding,Hath cheered me as a lovely beamA lonely spirit guiding. What though that light, thro' storm and night,So trembled from afar-What could there be more purely brightIn Truth's day-star? 梦by Edgar Allan Poe呵!

It was many and many a year ago, In a kingdom by the sea, That a maiden there lived whom you may know By the name of Annabel Lee; And this maiden she lived with no other thought Than to love and be loved by me. I was a child and she was a child, In this kingdom by the sea, But we loved with a love that was more than love— I and my Annabel Lee— With a love that the wingèd seraphs of Heaven Coveted her and me. And this was the reason that, long ago, In this kingdom by the sea, A wind blew out of a cloud, chilling My beautiful Annabel Lee; So that her highborn kinsmen came And bore her away from me, To shut her up in a sepulchre In this kingdom by the sea. The angels, not half so happy in Heaven, Went envying her and me— Yes!—that was the reason (as all men know, In this kingdom by the sea) That the wind came out of the cloud by night, Chilling and killing my Annabel Lee. But our love it was stronger by far than the love Of those who were older than we— Of many far wiser than we— And neither the angels in Heaven above Nor the demons down under the sea Can ever dissever my soul from the soul Of the beautiful Annabel Lee; For the moon never beams, without bringing me dreams Of the beautiful Annabel Lee; And the stars never rise, but I feel the bright eyes Of the beautiful Annabel Lee; And so, all the night-tide, I lie down by the side Of my darling—my darling—my life and my bride, In her sepulchre there by the sea— In her tomb by the sounding sea.2,全诗译文如下:很久很久以前,在一个临海的王国里,你也许知道有一位少女,芳名就叫安娜贝尔 李;少女此生别无他愿,只求与我相爱永不分离。

HAUNTED HOUSE STORY
Once upon a time, there was a house standing at the north corner of this block. It was a two-story wooden house, surrounded by many modern office buildings. Maybe you'll wonder why such an ancient piece would still existed in the forest of concrete. But rumor had it that the house was evil. The owner of the house had moved to another city, so now it was literally ABANDONED.
One evening, a man from one of the nearby office buildings just got off his work. He was curious about house and what it had inside. So he entered the house, tried to find something useful. After checking the first floor, he went upstairs. When he entered a room, the door was closed by itself. The man heard about the house and its horrible stories before, he was so frighten, he lit a cigarette and open the door with his trembling hand. But he saw no one, but a pair of high heel, right in front of the door, just like someone standing at that place.
A voice said:" I was murdered in the room, my body had been splited and hide in the house."
"So。.where is your head?" The man asked.
"In the garret above the room."
"Where is your legs?"
"Eaten by dogs。" The "thing" replied in a low voice.
"where is your body?"
"Under the pillar of the house。"
"And your arms?"
"HERE!!!!!!!!" a pair of bloody arms suddenly appeared from the darkness and instantly killed the man.
The man was dead, but his cigarette fell on the dry wooden floor and finally burned the house into ashes. The firefighters came, but there was nothing they could do.
Someone said they saw a giant shadow rised and disappeared upon the house on the day of its own destruction. But no one had anything to proved it.
